Are you seriously calling this a gluten free recipe? The notes are good about getting gluten free oats, but "all-purpose flour"? I hope someone doesn't make this for a friend with celiac disease. Could be disastrous.
This was delicious. Had to put it in a 13x9 pyrex dish. Also did not make balls for the topping, just sprinkled it evenly over the top. Easliy 16 servings.
Delicious. I omitted the sugar from the peaches and added a touch of ginger. Yummy!
in response to bluebear23...never heard of 'clear gel'...google says it is a fancy corn starch...will try this soon!
That "okay" rating probably stems from the fact that this much sugar and butter makes this crisp very runny and not very appetizing! It's imperative you choose a thickener such as Clear Gel or you have a waaaay too juicy dish! Once I figured this out, I added 2 Tablespoons of Clear Gel and stirred it into the peaches and it was a great dessert!
My family loves any type of fruit crisp. The oat and nut topping would go very well with any fruit. We like this better than cobbler.
This looks easy to make, but I'm curious about the "okay" rating.
