Plenty of leftovers. I'd up the garlic next time.
I have made this recipe several times. I do replace the beef wtih ground turkey. Its great for taking places also. Love this recipe
Real Simple has a cookbook?! I must have that! Thanks nuttmegs17 for the heads up. I wish RS had a servings adjuster on the page.
I just made it for friends tonight and it was really good and really filling! Instead of ziti I used whole wheat rotini and and in place of ground beef I used ground turkey. Just small things to make this delicious recipe a little healthier.
Great recipe- made it for my husband's birthday! Only drawback was it was quite a large batch and almost didn't fit in my large skillet. I also used shredded skim milk mozzarella and fat free ricotta and it was still delicious.
This is a great recipe...however, this version is incorrect. I have the real simple cookbook and the same recipe serves 8-12...NOT 4 as indicated here. Those concerned about calories or sodium should note that the nutritional breakdown shown here is incorrect - it serves 8-12 and not 4 so plan accordingly!
This looks good, but I noticed the very high sodium content in the recipe. For those on a sodium restricted diet it might help to substitute the jar of pasta sauce with a home made one using low or no salt tomatoes/tomato products and a salt substitute.
Made in Sep '09. I used penne, because I couldn't find ziti at my local supermarket here in Canberra. This turned out to be easy & yummy, but it served way more than 4!
