They're rich in healthy fats, protein, and fiber, plus you can snack on a handful without ruining your appetite for the next meal. But what's better than a snack of plain walnuts? Crispy, crunchy walnuts coated in a sweet, salty, slightly spicy mixture, guaranteed to stick to the nuts thanks to a beaten egg white in the mix. Be sure to let the nuts cool completely before diving in; they'll crisp up as they sit. Feel free to sub in pecans or almonds for the walnuts if you prefer. Ingredients 1 egg white 3 tablespoons honey 2 teaspoons smoked paprika 2 teaspoons kosher salt .50 teaspoon cayenne 4 cups raw walnut halves (about 12 oz.) Directions Preheat oven to 300°F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Whisk egg white, honey, paprika, salt, and cayenne in a large bowl. Add walnuts and toss to coat. Spread walnuts on baking sheet. Bake until mostly dry but a little tacky, 20 to 25 minutes. Let cool completely, about 30 minutes. (Walnuts will crisp up as they cool.) Rate it Print
