How to Make Healthy Homemade French Fries That Taste Like the Real Thing (No Special Appliances Required) Ingredients 6 ounces tomato paste ½ cup light corn syrup ½ cup white vinegar 1 tablespoon granulated sugar 1 teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon onion powder ⅛ teaspoon garlic powder Directions In a medium saucepan over medium heat, whisk all ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, uncovered, whisking every couple of minutes. Once thickened, remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
