This smoothie was way too sweet for me and the oats give it a weird texture even when completely blended down. Also it made my stomach hurt. I'm not a big fan but it you really like ginger and sweet things then you might enjoy it more than me.
Thank you for this simple and healthy recipe... I bought awesome blender from here http://homegadgetsdaily.com/ , now, will make smoothies everyday :))
I just made these smoothies for my husband, son and myself (double recipe which is four cups/32 oz) and we love it! The oatmeal does give it some texture, but I think the ginger helps cut any floury feeling. Based on another review, I put the oatmeal on top and it blended up perfectly (in our new blender we chose based on Real Simple's recent ratings). Thanks for a yummy recipe!
I loved this smoothie, I cut the amount of oatmeal in half and it didn't taste so grainy/mealy. I was nervous about adding ginger because it has a very strong flavor, but it went well with the sweet blueberries.
This was a great smoothie! We had issues the first time getting it all to blend so we changed the order of things. First, I softened the oats in a glass measuring cup. Once they were ready, we put the ingredients in this order: ice, yogurt, blueberries, sugar, ginger, and the oats. It blended much easier
It was ok. I don't care for ginger so I used cinnamon. The oats leave kind of a starchy/floury feeling in your mouth but the flavor is pretty good.
