This dessert was delish and so easy to make thank you.:-)
Why do people go on cooking/recipe sites then complain about the calories? I was looking for recipe reviews not finger pointing. Thank you, good to know about the frozen whipped cream.
Wow! This looks easy and delicious and I can't wait to make it.
What's wrong with a size 12? I happen to be a size 16 and guess what - I LOOK FABULOUS! It is because of comments like yours that people have this "skinny complex". I agree with thebeesknees - if you don't like it, shut it. Go look up a recipe someplace else.
Real Simple also does not have to provide all low-fat, low-calorie recipes. Have you ever heard of eating with moderation? I am not eating the entire cake. And I will enjoy my fat... thank you very much. It's delicious.
Real Simple does not have to be unhealthy. Go ahead....enjoy your fat....have a healthy life. LOL
This was easy to make. I don't know if I'd make it again. The whipped cream froze up hard and I didn't like the texture of that.
tylercat43: O PUL-EEZE! It's not on a Real Simple dietary plan, it's a TREAT! If you must, legalize it. I bet you're a real hoot to have around...your sense of humor is, no doubt, as low fat as possible. Get a jar of bubbles, maybe that'll relax you a bit.
Chopped candy bars--hey, that IS kid friendly!!
Thanks for the ideas! I have a mom's group meeting tonight and this seems like an easy way to modify the cake to be even faster to put together - and I am sure my family won't be disappointed if there are leftovers!
I'll be making this for the 4th of July cook out Im attending this year, I'm hoping it will win over the future inlaws LOL
parrotheadmom -- your recipe sounds rally good. could I have the amounts for everything you make it with. thanks.
My son has a dairy allergy so we used soy ice cream sandwiches and soy whipped cream with non dairy chocolate chips. He was so excited to be able to have ice cream cake with everyone else for his birthday.
Why not use Weight watchers sandwiches and cool whip and then you have an excuse for the other goodies.
We call this "Ice cream Lasagna". I use Cool Whip in the tub-- our layers go as such: Drizzle chocolate syrup on bottom of 13x9 pan, layer ice cream sammies, spread cool whip on top, drizzle choc. syrup and caramel sauce, crumbled Heath Bars. Another layer of ice cream sammies, whipped topping, syrup(s), Heath and if you want, an extra drizzle of choc. syrup over the Heath bars. Freeze completely, then when ready to serve, set out for a few mins. b4 cutting. A definite crowd pleaser!!
Made this recipe for a dinner with grandkids one night and it turned out yummy! Easy to do as well...it is a keeper!!!
YUM!!! I used chocolate shell in between cream layers. I did a cream layer, then put into the freezer for a few minutes to chill, then I drizzled chocolate shell on. I then sprinkled Heath bar Bits O Brickel on and repeated. It is DE-LISH!

Totally Agree with Akshat
