Hello , great recipe but if you are trying to lose some weight maybe you should try this method https://tinyurl.com/y8qu68dk my best regards
Made these biscuits for breakfast this morning with sausage gravy & scrambled eggs. They were easy to make and perfect with the gravy. I will definitely make them again!
Oh my gosh - I have been looking for years for a good, easy biscuit recipe. I don't like to roll out dough so it had to be a drop biscuit recipe. I have probably tried anywhere from 25-30 recipes, including my own that I made up and I have had no success at all. My David has gotten so traumatized by my bad attempts that he had begun to hate biscuits all together. This past Sunday I was making spicy lentil soup but I had forgotten to buy a loaf of bread at the store so I decided to once again try to make biscuits as The Walking Dead was starting soon and I did not want to go out to the store. I stumbled across this recipe and gave it a try. I followed it exactly as written above and my goodness - these biscuits are amazing!!!!!!!!! I was so surprised and my David even said "Finally - you got the biscuits right!" I am making some soup tonight and will make these again; they are so easy and so good!
These are great. I make a half batch for my wife and myself. I found the requested amount of baking powder to be a little high and tastes just a little bitter, so I prefer 1tsp for a half batch, or 2tsp for the full batch. Works perfectly in my toaster oven!
Used pastry flour and added I little more and turned into rolled dough which I cut into squares. I also took a third of the dough and added shredded cheddar cheese and precooked crumbled bacon kneaded thrm into the dough rolled it out and cut into squares.
I just used this recipe but substituted in buttermilk, and added some sharp cheddar
This is such an amazing recipe! I made these in my stand mixer with the whisk attachment. I also used only 3/4 c. whole milk and 1/4 c. of heavy cream. We put organic honey and organic butter on them and they were amazing!! I will make these every weekend for my family!!
Works beautifully with Bob's Organic Whole Wheat Pastry flour a bit of fiber never hurts
First time making biscuits and so good! Should have made more!
While I have tried other quick and easy biscuit recipes, what I like best about this one is that they are drop biscuits. Not only is it easier and quicker to throw together, but they have a more dense consistency which I prefer. The recipe is simple and the ingredients are easily veganized which is a plus in my book. I did get 8 perfect for breakfast-jam-and-butter biscuits which is exactly what I was looking for. I will keep this recipe bookmarked!
Great recipe, only takes a few minutes to make the dough in my food processor. The recipe states 6 biscuits though...they would have to be massive! I ended up with 11 biscuits of what I thought were a pretty decent size. Since mine were obviously smaller I cooked for a shorter amount of time...still delicious!
I used crisco in mine instead of butter. Turned out great! Used a large tablespoon and no food processor. Great results! Loved it!
OMG I loved these defiantly will be making these again! Thanks for the recipe it saved the night lol!
These are scrumptious! I didn't feel like cleaning the food processor on a Sunday morning so I mixed my dry ingredients and working very quickly grated the butter ( best from the freezer in quick toss and finger work brought it to the perfect crumb and then I stirred in the milk just to moisten as described. I knew I had a winner when I dropped those gorgeous globs onto my parchment 19 min later I was in biscuit blackberry jam bliss! Not good for the hips but who e heck cares because love (even biscuit love) is good for the soul in moderation.
LOVE IT!!!! The Biscuits came out fluffy and just perfect it was a real hit with my family.
I LOVE the fact that I can use my processor for this, THE biscuits were great, thanks!!
Use less. I mean, this is barely baking, and surely something you can personalize. I've made them while on backpacking trips with powdered skim and no fat. Sure they were a little dry, but I made sausage cream gravy with TVP sausage and poured it over the biscuits and reconstituted crystallized eggs (Ova Easy - clever, ain't it.) Serve with Tang...
Ran out of bread and needed something quick to go with soup - found this recipe and my prayers were answered!!! These biscuits were easy, quick and my kids thought they were the greatest thing in the world...
You have a point, carollk- I wasn't eating all six! but usually I eat two with my soup. Maybe three. and that's between a third to a half stick of butter for one person.
This recipe is not intended to be for a "single dinner meal". It makes 6 large biscuits.
I agree...each biscuit is 315 calories!!! Try making the super simple drop biscuits on the Bisquick box.
