You can also add yogurt, kefir or tofu for more protein. I also add a little flax seed oil that I keep in the fridge for my Omega fix.
This is delicious.....love the tang of lime, just a tiny tang. I'll be making this a summer staple.
Just add some protein powder -- soy, rice, pea, whey -- and you have a hearty meal.
I had collard greens to use from my CSA, but I expected them to make this smoothie too bitter. I used a fresh mango and the juice of one lime. It was delicious. The consistency was perfect without adding water. I live alone and drank the whole batch for breakfast. Only wish it had a little protein to hold me all the way to lunch.
I had very low expectation for this, and made it for a healthy balance to pigs in a blanket. It was DELICIOUS! Really good.... everyone loved it. I increased the quantities by 50 percent because it was 3 of us. Made six glasses. They were GONE. Only thing is... I really have to stop using my kitchenaid food processor as a blender...
