There's not a smidge of whiskey in the recipe—but there's certainly nothing childish about this sexy, smoky, tea- and black-cherry infused riff on the Manhattan. For maximum effect, garnish it with real Maraschino cherries, like those sold under the Luxardo name.
3 ounces strong black tea (preferably lapsang souchong), chilled
3 ounces pure cherry juice
1 tablespoon grenadine
3 dashes Angostura bitters
Maraschino cherries, optional
How to Make It
Combine the tea, juice, and grenadine in an ice-filled old-fashioned glass. Stir and top with bitters. Garnish with cherries, if desired.
