Once spring has sprung, our culinary thoughts naturally veer toward seasonal produce, and this broiled asparagus recipe is the quickest, easiest way to go from fresh to fabulous. It only takes 10 minutes, 4 ingredients (two of them are salt and pepper), and 1 pound of asparagus to serve up this four-serving side that goes with just about anything.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound asparagus, trimmed

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • Kosher salt and black pepper

Directions

  1. Heat broiler. On a baking sheet, toss the asparagus with the oil and ¼ teaspoon each salt and pepper.

  2. Arrange the asparagus in a single layer and broil, shaking the baking sheet occasionally, until tender and slightly charred, 6 to 8 minutes.
