This recipe had no flavor. Needs garlic, paprika, etc. Will not be making again.
It is not just that I love cabbage, it also is because this uses flavors which mimic my favorite spice (Cumin) The ground coriander has depth and warmth that lasts for a long time after eating. The golden raisins were a surprising addition and the small amount of pureed tomatoes provided just the right amount of acidity to cut through the fat of the beef. This recipe uses few ingredients, easy to prepare, and is quickly finished on the stove. I served my dish with Rice and eagerly enjoyed it for left overs the next day at which time it tasted just as good if not better. I did NOT have ground sirloin so used ground beef and spooned out the fat/liquids as it browned. YUM!!!
Delicious, unusual flavors. Easy to make. This recipe is in regular rotation at our house.
i accidentally rated this 4 instead of 5! i love this recipe - so quick and easy with minimal ingredients but delicious and satisfying. i was thrown off by the raisins and cinnamon, but all of the flavors come together really well.
Not bad, but I must have used a larger cabbage than the one used in the photo. Next time will use half of it.
