L.L. Bean Boots Are Getting a Makeover
The cult classic Bean Boots are getting a new look—but don’t panic, you’re going to love it.
L.L. Bean has been crafting their beloved all-weather boots the same way for the past 105 years, but as of this week, they’ll now come in multiple colors and silhouettes. Just like the original—which, don’t worry, is still being produced—the new styles will be handcrafted in Maine and will last a lifetime. The spring and summer styles will be made from lighter materials than their fall and winter counterparts, acting more as rain gear than snow boots. The boots better suited for colder months will be lined with cozy shearling and fleece.
The fundamentals don't stray far from the classic shape—they all have the waterproof “duck boot” bottoms, leather uppers, and sturdy all-terrain soles. But some new styles are being added to the lineup: There is a Chelsea-style boot for summer and a super warm, sixteen-inch shearling-lined boot for winter.
If you consider yourself an L.L. Bean aficionado, you will not want to miss out on these releases. Look for the summer batch coming this August, the fall batch in September, and the winter batch in November.
The spring batch is available to purchase now and consists of two 8-inch boots and one 6-inch boot in never-before-seen colors: plum for women, field olive/sail for men and women, and dark ash/brick red for men. The eight-inch retails for $119 and the six-inch goes for $109.
They are considered “small batch” because the styles are limited edition—they’re only being produced once. As soon as these shoes sell out, they are gone forever (so it’s a good thing they’ll last you that long!).
