They feel like walking on cushy clouds

Before I moved to New York City a couple years ago, I set out on a wild goose chase to get a good pair of walking shoes. Finding shoes that felt good and didn’t scream “orthotic footwear” proved to be quite the challenge.

A little backstory: Comfy shoes rank a little higher on the importance scale for me because I’ve had rheumatoid arthritis in my knees since childhood. If I don’t have the proper support, my joints might swell or ache. As a kid, this meant wearing shoes that felt good but looked blocky and drab.

All of that changed when I tried on a pair of Skechers Go Walk 3s. They’re a sleek, slip-on sneaker with great arch support and design that’s meant to absorb impact. The shoes have a breathable mesh upper fabric, which keeps feet cool and dry. There’s memory foam padding in the sole and heel and an antimicrobial sock liner that prevents stinky feet smell (even if you don’t wear socks!).

Even better, they’re super lightweight and come in both neutral and more colorful options that will work with your wardrobe (whether you’re wearing athletic clothes or even casual work attire).

I wear the shoes every day to walk the dog and often all weekend as I run errands and explore the city. And wouldn’t you know, my knees have never felt better.
