While we’ll forever be fans of Meghan Markle’s ever-chic collection of coats and comfortable shoes, the Duchess of Sussex recently sported a sentimental necklace that’s so sweet, it immediately skyrocketed to the top of our to-buy list.

During a recent trip to New York City to celebrate her baby shower alongside her BFFs (including the likes of Amal Clooney and Serena Williams), Meghan exited her Upper East Side hotel wearing a dainty gold necklace that was nearly invisible underneath her camel coat. Fortunately, upon closer inspection, eagle-eyed fans were able to determine the jewelry as a popular Jennifer Meyer design ($850; jennifermeyer.com).

Fixed to a 16-inch link chain, the Los Angeles-made necklace acts as the ultimate layering piece, plus it’s available in rose gold, 18-karat yellow gold, and 18-karat white gold.

It’s unclear whether the duchess’s gold nameplate spells out “mummy” or “mommy,” but both options are available on the Jennifer Meyer website, along with designs that read “mama,” “love you,” and “sister.” (There’s even a “je t’aime” option for the Francophile in your life.) Despite the uncertainty, we like to think Meghan’s necklace depicts the popular English nickname of “mummy” as a nod to her British husband, Prince Harry himself.

Jennifer Meyer jewelry has long been revered by high-profile celebs like Jessica Alba and Jennifer Aniston, but now that we know the whimsical designs come royal-approved, we’re mentally taking note for Mother’s Day. (Save the date: It falls on Sunday, May 12, this year.)

Whether you’re in the market for a new piece of bling, or shopping for a caretaker you know and love, Meghan’s sentimental necklace is ideal for new and seasoned mamas alike.
