Up there with the red lip, the cat eye is one of the most classic beauty looks of all time. For decades it's been behind the most sultry stares and mesmerizing eyes, and there's no sign that it will ever go out of style. It's one of those looks that you might as well invest the time in learning how to do properly, because you'll always be able to use it. Whether you're a newbie to the feline eye or a seasoned pro, we captured the classic cat eye MIMI-style, for your educational and beauty purposes. Enjoy!
But we really, really want you to master this, so here's the tutorial broken down, so you can take this slowly and make it seem like you've been doing this your whole life. Remember, just like Hermione says, swish and flick!
1. Curl your lashes. This is a must because it will help keep you looking wide-eyed and awake, and as we all know, there's no downside to that.
2. Even out your eyelids by applying a neutral shadow that matches your skin tone.
3. Choose your liner and draw a line on your lid starting at the inner corner along the lash line. Continue to about 2/3's of the way out. Here's a sneaky little trick: look down at a hand mirror while drawing your flick, and do so by drawing a line up as if it's coming from your lower lash line. Then fill in any awkward spaces between the two lines et voila! You have your flick.
4. No cat-eye look is complete without mascara. Add as much as you want for volume and then go forth and bat those eyes!
