“Hair that is naturally curly works beautifully with this style,” says hairstylist Kate Bryan. For those with straight hair, simply start by curling it with hot rollers. (Been a while since you’ve used them? See Bryan’s video tutorial on how to curl hair with hot rollers.) An alternative is to use a curling iron, but, says Bryan, “set the curls with clips after you release a section from the iron. That way the curl will hold longer.” (For more, see Bryan’s tutorial on how to use a curling iron.) Hair should be clean, but if you need a little texture, spray dry shampoo throughout, and run your fingers through your hair to distribute it.Read on for the step-by-step how-tos, or click here to see the video tutorial for the Side-Swept With a Twist Updo.
