The actress' sleek style is a chic alternative to the long, beachy waves of last summer.

It's only June but already we're seeing that last summer's go-to 'do—long, beachy waves—is being replaced by chin-length bobs and baby bags. On Monday, Canadian actress Nina Dobrev took the bob to the next level with a sleek look that may be our favorite summer style of all.

Dobrev wowed the crowd at the 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards with a layered asymmetrical style (the longest pieces just skimming her cheekbones). While her look may have been the result of a deceptively tricky updo (her stylist, Chris McMillan, captioned a photo of his work with #undercut #butnot) instead of a new haircut, the effortless look is inspiring us to go shorter. The style is super low-maintenance and an easy way to beat the heat!
