She posted the before-and-after photos on her Instagram account.
Jessica Alba and her husband Cash Warren welcomed their third child, a son who they named Hayes, on New Year's Eve. During her pregnancy and for a couple months after she gave birth, Alba's hair was long, streaming halfway down her back. That is, until last week, when the star posted a before-and-after of her recent haircut. Although her stylist only chopped off a few inches, Alba reveals that the refresh feels even better than it looks, captioning the post, "it feels sooo good to shed the pregnancy hair."
After a couple months of caring for a newborn, Alba was ready for a mini makeover. Now, her hair reaches just a couple inches past her shoulders, with a slightly shorter angle in the front to frame her face. Although the cut itself isn't too dramatic, the change serves as a reminder that even a trim can make a big difference when it comes to making hair look healthier. After chopping off dead ends, her hair suddenly looks healthier and shinier.
Alba's hairstylist Chad Wood also shared the transformation on his Instagram account, giving us a behind-the-scenes peek at the transformation process with a time lapse video. A well-known celebrity stylist, Chad Wood has also worked with Bella Haddid, Mila Kunis, and many others, so he knows how to create a look a-listers will love.
Copying Alba's look is easy if you already have longer hair: Just ask for a just-past-your-shoulders cut, without too much layering, and a very subtle angle at the front for face-framing pieces. The best part is that this easygoing style is long enough to pull back into a ponytail, yet short enough so the maintenance is minimal.
