Sephora Just Added Two Products for Damaged Hair–And 40,000 People Are Already Hooked
Two highly-coveted Olaplex treatments are now available on Sephora's website.
I know this is going to sound a tad silly, but self-care has been very “in” these last few years. From teenage girls to middle-aged men, everyone is striving to “live their best life,” as the kids would say. In fact, it was just the other day that my burly husband asked to use my nighttime marula serum.
It seems as if people are really investing their time and money into great quality beauty, skin, and hair products, and with the help of social media, it ain’t slowing down anytime soon. When people get wind about a certain miracle product or brand, it spreads like wildfire. And that’s exactly what happened with Olaplex.
Olaplex products have been commonly known and used by professional hair stylists and salons for years–especially on clients with color-treated hair–but some of the brand's products have started becoming available for regular consumers to use at home. Sephora recently stocked Olaplex's No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo ($28; sephora.com) and No. 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner ($28; sephora.com), for example, and they've been flying off the virtual shelves.
Despite being newer introductions to Sephora's inventory, the damaged-hair saviors have already racked up 20,000 "loves" each on the site, which makes sense considering the success Olaplex's Hair Perfector No. 3 ($28; sephora.com) has seen with the retailer. These shampoo and conditioner Olaplex treatments are part of the 3-4-5 system and meant to be used in conjunction with each other, so now customers can get a full set if they're so inclined.
Ok, so... you’re probably wondering what makes these products so special.
Well, according to the haircare brand's website, Olaplex products contain a patented active ingredient that works on a molecular level to seek out broken bonds in the hair that are caused by chemical, thermal, and mechanical damage. In other words, Olaplex treatments will restore hair breakage and can even be added to another service to prevent future damage. These products are also known to work well with any hair type and texture, making them super versatile for anyone who wants to strengthen their hair.
Still not sold on the Olaplex craze? Take a gander at some of the reviews on Sephora.com. Countless people have mentioned Olaplex No. 4 is “the best shampoo ever,” and someone even commented that it gave them a “hairgasm.” While I’m not quite sure what that means, it sounds like it’s gotta be good.
