It’s about time the retailer made this big change.
Known for its trendy fast fashion finds and well-priced basics, Forever21 has long been a destination for savvy shoppers all over the world. But those familiar with the brand had one big complaint: the return policy.
Previously, the retailer only offered store credit or exchanges for purchases made in store—and did not honor any returns or exchanges for purchases made online. But that’s all in the past now. Yesterday, Forever21 announced a new and vastly improved return policy that’s much more shopper friendly.

Customers can now get a full refund to their original method of payment (cash, debit, credit, or gift cards) for any in-store purchases within 30 days of purchase. There’s only one small caveat: Items must be returned in the same country in which they were purchased.

Online shoppers have something to look forward to as well: Digital shopping hauls now qualify for returns, too. Customers can make returns through the postal service. Alternatively, they can take their purchases to a Forever21, XXI Forever, or ForLove21 retail store in the United States for exchange or store credit only. Shoppers have 30 days from the original ship date to complete both types of online returns.

Unfortunately, final sale items do not qualify for return. Additional items that cannot be returned for credit, refund, or exchange include gift cards, e-gift certificates, and cosmetics. The only exceptions to this rule? If the item was damaged or defective when it arrived—or if the wrong item was accidentally sent out.
