What You Need to Know About Zappos’ New Loyalty Program
Now you can save even more at the popular online retailer.
Even if you’re already a Zappos VIP, you’ll want to know about the retailer’s first-ever loyalty program: Zappos Rewards. The four-tiered program gives customers points for shopping, access to exclusive products and sales, as well as free expedited shipping on all orders.
Zappos Rewards members enter the program at the silver level, but can elevate their status to gold, platinum, or even elite by earning more points (silver: 0-1,199 points; gold: 1,200-5,999 points; platinum: 6,000+ points; and elite: invite only).
The amount of points a customer receives depends on how they interact with the site. Shoppers get 10 points for every $1 spent on a purchase, 50 points just for logging into Zappos.com on any device, and 100 points for writing a review. Members can redeem 1,000 points for $1 in rewards codes. (Shoppers may only earn a maximum of 250,000 rewards points per calendar year for participating in promotional activities, like writing reviews or logging in.)

Though the extent of the benefits depend upon tier placement, other perks include: a dedicated customer service phone number, opportunities to test new features, free UPS pickups for returns, free returns beyond the 365-day return policy, and more.

Sound similar to the VIP program? Shoppers should note that it’s possible to be members of both programs. While some of the perks do overlap, the rewards program gives active customers more opportunities to earn rewards and save—in addition to the free shipping the VIP program offers.
