Your Favorite J. Crew Items From the ‘80s Are Back
Nostalgia is in full force at J. Crew. ‘Prep’-pare yourself: the colorful brand has brought back two of their preppiest ‘80s classics, the rugby shirt and the rollneck sweater.
Neither item was ever technically discontinued, but this year they are on the forefront of the company’s fall campaign. And for good reason: The cozy pieces are easy to work into your fall wardrobe. Wear the rugby shirt with a pair of updated jeans and some classic sneakers for a relaxed weekend look. The rollneck sweater is perfect for taking along with you as those summer days start to turn into cooler nights. Pop it on over a button down (or even the rugby top!) with a pair of shorts and sandals for the ultimate laid-back summer look.
The rugby shirt comes in three colors: navy and white, navy and pink, and champagne and white. The striped shirt was originally designed in 1984 with a loose fit in line with the silhouettes of the time; the 2017 update has a slimmer, more flattering fit to bring it into the modern day.

The rollneck sweater was first designed in 1988, but will keep you just as cozy today as it did back then. J. Crew is offering this piece in five colors: navy, pink, yellow, white with blue stripes, or a gray version done in luxe Italian cashmere. The sweater comes with a relaxed fit that is slightly slimmer than the 1988 version, just like the rugby.
