Forget about getting in the car for a quick trip to Target. Starting February 1, customers in certain areas of the country will be able to shop from the comfort of their homes with same-day delivery.

This life-changing service is made possible along with Shipt, a home-delivery service that Target purchased for $550 million. Good news if you live in Birmingham or South Florida: You’ll be among the first in the country to test out the new membership-based service. Other select markets will have access to the service, too. In particular, more parts of Florida can test it out, including Naples and Orlando.

With same-day delivery, you’ll be able to purchase a variety of groceries, electronics, housewares, and other Target products. A Shipt membership costs $99 per year or $14 per month, qualifying you for same-day shipping on orders over $35. If your delivery is less than $35, a $7 fee will be applied. Keep in mind that Shipt prices are different than in-store prices.

And if you’re in the market for a new job, Shipt is planning to hire 100,000 new shoppers around the country. That's right, you can get paid to shop Target stores and fulfill customers' orders. If you thought you couldn't possibly love Target any more than you already do, you’re about to officially be smitten with the shopping superstore.

Depending on how the first markets go, we can only hope that Target will expand same-day delivery across the country.
