If you're a Marshalls, T.J.Maxx, or HomeGoods shopper, than you already know that the key to uncovering the best stuff is all in the search (and coming at the right time—everyone knows that new shipments arrive on Tuesdays, right?). But if you live far away from the nearest store or don't want to show up only to discover that they haven't put out their seasonal finds just yet, then you'll want to hop on Instagram first. Although the Marshalls and T.J.Maxx shopping experience is all about the in-store treasure hunt, following these stores on social media can tip you off to new arrivals, what other shoppers are finding, and how the selection at various store locations may differ. Here are five reasons following these stores on social media can make you a savvier shopper.

Browse by Store Location to Find Fresh Arrivals

When you go on Instagram, search for your local Marshalls, T.J.Maxx, or HomeGoods store location under the "Places" search tab. Under the "Recent" results you'll see what other shoppers are finding right now. Depending upon how active that store location is, you may be able to see what others bought yesterday, today, or even within the hour. While there's no guarantee that you'll be able to grab the same thing, it can give you an idea of what the selection looks like.

Consider Other Store Locations in Your Area

Each location offers a slightly different selection, so check out what shoppers are finding at other locations besides your go-to store. If you spot that the Marshalls store that's a short drive away from your go-to location has an amazing selection of beauty products or just got a fresh shipment of designer dresses, it could be worth making the trek to check it out.

Follow Their Hashtags to See What Others Are Finding

There's perhaps nothing more inspiring than seeing what others are finding, so keep an eye on the most popular hashtags: for Marshalls, follow #MarshallsSurprise, for HomeGoods add #GoFinding, and for T.J.Maxx follow #MaxxLife. When you search for these hashtags, you'll see a button on the top of the search page to "Follow" the hashtag so you can keep up with what others are buying. Of course, there's no guarantee that your local store will carry the same treasures (we're looking at you, gorgeous bone inlay furniture, above), but it can help direct your search or inspire you to check out new areas of the store.

Shop T.J.Maxx's New Arrivals Online

While all three stores emphasize the in-store experience over online shopping, T.J.Maxx does offer a selection online and following their Instagram account can tip you off to the best new arrivals. Want to shop similar products to the finds featured on the store's beautiful Instagram (like those amazing espadrilles, above)? Click the Like2Buy link in the profile and click on the image you'd like to shop. This will redirect you to similar new arrivals available online, so you don't even have to visit the store. One you find a pair of sandals you love, click the "See Similar Styles" option directly below the product to pull up even more options. Follow Some Fans Accounts

Believe it or not, there are many Instagram accounts created by bargain-hunting super fans who wants to show off their latest finds. For example, Marshalls Enthusiasts is run by two best friends and documents their shopping successes at Marshalls, HomeGoods, and T.J.Maxx. Besides showing off some great finds, these accounts are full of styling ideas and DIY inspiration. Evidence: the once-teal vase above was a $10 Marshalls find that was spray-painted white to match a minimalist palette. Following these accounts could help you come up with new ways to decorate with and personalize your affordable finds.
