Oh, Anthropologie: This ever-changing clothing mecca is the online (and in-store) destination for everything from bohemian apparel and exotic-inspired home décor to indulgent beauty products and one-of-a-kind accessories. (You can even find gorgeous mother-of-the-bride dresses there.) Basically, Anthropologie is more than a retailer—it’s a whole lifestyle. Be honest: Who hasn’t posted a photo with one of Anthro’s trending social media hashtags, #MyAnthro and #AnthroHome, to show off a recent purchase?

At a retailer with such a vast range of apparel, décors, and aesthetics, it’s easy to get swept under one of their Tufted Bettina Rugs. Naturally, everyone wants to score discounts, deals, and unique home finds when perusing Anthropologie’s overflowing racks, online or in stores, but searching for deals and actually finding them are two different things. Good news: You’ll be shopping like an Anthro-Pro before spring’s first bloom with the help of a few industry insiders and some Anthropologie strategies.

Shopping online has exploded in popularity, but shopping on your mobile phone has changed the shopping game when it comes to getting new trend alerts and learning about new sales as they happen. Take the new Anthropologie app: Not only does the app allow users to be the first to know about new arrivals and offer express checkout options (one click and done), but shoppers can also digitally visualize Anthro décor in their spaces with Augmented Reality. You can download the Anthropologie app here.

It seems like every retailer has some type of loyalty program, and Anthropologie is no different. Frequent Anthro shoppers should sign up to reap the benefits of being an AnthroPerks member. After all, it’s free! Subscribing a la email is easy, and incentives such as special birthday discounts, early access to new arrivals, and invitations to special Anthro events await. Become a part of their loyalty program here.

Caitlin Murray, founder and interior designer at Black Lacquer Design, recommends shopping all of the Anthro areas for all of your home décor essentials. “Don’t be afraid to use outdoor furniture indoors,” she says. “A lot of their options will work just as beautifully inside. Since they are typically a bit more cost-effective than their indoor options, you’ll be getting the same style for less.”

Most of our news today stems from our phones—and many hush-hush sale updates happen on Instagram. Aside from following Anthro’s main account, you should also follow accounts for the locations closet to your home on the ’gram as well.

“Anthropologie has Instagram accounts specific to some of their local stores, where they sometimes offer special deals specific to that location,” says Leonora Epstein, senior editorial director for Hunker. “For example, the San Francisco account recently posted that they were offering 50 percent off select floor samples at their Walnut Creek store, available for local pickup.”

Murray recommends scouting Anthro’s hardware and cabinetry sections. “Anthropologie is a great place to find cheap cabinetry and mirrors that look one-of-a-kind without having to spend your Saturday sifting through your local flea market,” she says.

Tuning in regularly to Anthro’s Home Tutorials is the most official way to live (and experience) the #MyAnthro aesthetic on a regular basis. This is where the retailer’s interior designers share their professional décor trends, recipes, home features, holiday decorating, and styling tips.

Murray’s favorite Anthropologie tip is to look down. “The rugs! They make some of my favorite affordable rugs, and because a ton of the patterns and colors are exclusive to Anthropologie, you can’t find them elsewhere,” she says. “With such a large variety of styles, it’s hard not to find something that will work in your space.” Check out Anthropologie’s online rugs and curtain offerings here.
