And it's the gift I'm giving everyone I know.
I’ve been skeptical about robes for years. I’ve purchased so many that seem to fall apart after the first few wears or lose their softness after one time through the wash. I was beginning to lose faith that I’d ever find a comfy, durable, and breathable robe.
But then I heard about the brand Parachute. (When I first started at Real Simple, all my co-workers couldn't stop raving about their towels.) While browsing the site, I came across the company's waffle robe. I knew I needed to give it a try after reading the rave reviews.
How I feel about this robe is simple. I might be in love. It’s soft, but not overly soft. It feels like your most favorite, worn-in blanket. It's warm, but still incredibly breathable—I was able to cook over the stove and give my room a deep clean without getting overheated.
Made of 100 percent Turkish cotton, it’s very lightweight and easy to keep fastened around the waist, which I’ve always had an issue with in the past. Your mind can also rest easy about it falling apart, there’s no chance of the robe pilling or leaving unwanted fuzzies around the house after washing, due to the tightly knit waffle design. Wearing this robe really just feels like being in a high-end spa… all the time.
At $119, it’s probably the most money you’ll ever spend on a robe—but it’s a robe you’ll have for years. With the holidays just around the corner, it’s the gift I’m giving to both my mom and dad. Since the robe is unisex, it’s not too long or too short, making it the perfect length for both of them. It's a gift they’ll enjoy for a really long time, which is worth the price to me.
