Pinterest is the inspiration hub of our time, and people are unlikely to sit still on information about an escalating trend (because of FOMO, another emblem of our time). The discovery tool recently revealed that, in the past year, saves for batik prints have increased 406 percent.

Batik is a centuries-old dyeing technique from Indonesia that features intricate drawings and precise hot wax placement on fabric. Pinterest compares the effect to that of watercolors, but for your clothes. While not all of the searches saved on Pinterest incorporate the original technique, many brands have created prints in the style of batik, giving you a lot of entry points into this colorful, stained-glass-like trend.
