Grabbing coffee—be it with a colleague, mentor, or potential business partner—has become a ubiquitous way to connect with someone during the workday. And now, once you’ve picked the time and day, you no longer have to worry about location (if you like Starbucks, that is).
On Wednesday, Starbucks launched their own add-in for Outlook, which allows Outlook users to set their meeting location to Starbucks or send a Starbucks gift card via email. The scheduling process is simple: In the “location” field, you’ll have the option of clicking the new “Meet at Starbucks” button, which allows you to select your current location and find the most convenient store. All the details will be sent in the email to the recipient.
If you’re looking to send a gift card—perhaps to say congrats on the new job, or good luck on an upcoming project—you can choose between a variety of designs, then send the gift within the body of the email. This feature will require connecting to a Starbucks account.
Though not yet available on Mac systems, the add-in is currently available for Outlook.com, Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2016 on Windows, and Outlook on the web users.
