If you’re looking for a new job, you might consider finding one that will really make you happy. Job satisfaction and happiness look different for everyone, but Indeed, one of the world’s top job search sites, has revealed the U.S. cities with the happiest employees in its Indeed Job Happiness Index 2016. Whether you’re looking to move cities or simply seeking happiness at your current job, the report’s findings may help.

Indeed analyzed 10 million company reviews, and found that work-life balance was the most important factor to job happiness worldwide. Employees also value good managers, a positive work culture, job security, and fair compensation and benefits. Work-life balance remained important regardless of age, location, or industry, and surprisingly, compensation was consistently ranked last when it came to job satisfaction. The ability to spend time with family was more valuable than a paycheck.

Indeed also ranked the happiest cities in the U.S. for employees, and came up with a list of 25 large cities. Below, we’ve included the top 10, but you can visit Indeed’s full report for all 25 locations. You’ll notice that Californian cities dominate the list, and although Indeed’s report doesn’t offer reasoning, we have to imagine the weather is a huge plus.
