These Are the Most Popular Baby Names of 2016

Parenting website BabyCenter just released their list.

It might seem like new parents are doing whatever they can to come up with new, unique names for their children. But even if you name your daughter Blue or your son Gulliver, there’s still a good chance they’ll grow up differentiating their friends Sophia and Jackson by their last initial.

According to BabyCenter.com, a website for new and expectant parents, Sophia and Jackson are the most popular baby names of 2016. The list is based on nearly 400,000 parents who shared their child’s name on the site this year.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as the top 10 names for boys and girls haven’t budged in the past few years. In fact, the only change from 2015 was on the boy’s list, which included the same names from 2015, but in a different order—Lucas inched up to the number 3 spot over Liam. Sophia has been at the top of the girls list for seven years, now.
