New Baby Supplies Checklist

Onesies. Diaper pail. Bassinet. Before your little bundle comes home, stock up on these essentials.

Furniture

  • Bassinet
  • Changing table and changing pad
  • Crib and mattress (for tips on how to pick a good crib, go to the American Academy of Pediatrics’ site, aap.org)
  • Dresser
  • Hamper
  • High chair

Gear

  • Audio or video monitor
  • Baby sling or front carrier
  • Bathtub for infant
  • Bouncer seat or swing
  • Clothing hangers
  • Diaper pail and liners
  • Infant or convertible car seat (check out the American Academy of Pediatrics guide to picking out a car seat at aap.org)
  • Night-light
  • Safety gates, cabinet and drawer latches, and outlet covers.

Feeding Equipment

  • Bottle brush
  • 4 to 6 bottles (each should be 4 to 5 ounces)
  • Breast pump, if nursing

  • Nipples for bottles
  • 4 to 6 pacifiers, if using
