We’ve enjoyed Liane Moriarty’s previous work together (What Alice Forget, our April 2013 choice), so I guess it’s no surprise that Big Little Lies, her sixth adult novel, won handily this month. (Since I’m heading down to Charleston for vacation in October, I think our first runner-up, Sue Monk Kidd’s The Invention of Wings, which is set there, is also in my future.) Big Little Lies is a sizable book, but no worries: We have all month to read it.
Our very first live Facebook chat will be on Thursday, September 25, at 8 p.m. ET. How it will work: Just go to facebook.com/realsimple and find the discussion post. At 8 p.m. ET, it should be the very first one on our page. I’ll be on there as “Real Simple” leading the discussion until 9 p.m. ET, but everyone should feel free to chime in, throw out questions, express their opinions: just as though we were hanging out together in someone’s living room (though probably not mine; I have proper seating for only about six in my apartment). I hope that you’ll be able to drop in and join me—I’m looking forward to “meeting” you in another setting. As for the 8 p.m. start time... we’ll try it. We’ll see how it works. We can always adjust.
So are you ready? Have a great (and safe) Labor Day weekend. Clearly I know what I’m going to be doing over it! See you on September 25.
