The gift of a doll or a special toy would make most little kids jump for joy, but this 10-year-old got a surprise she (and others) won't soon forget.
Emma, who has a prosthetic leg, received an American Girl doll that had been modified and fitted with a prosthetic leg. Upon seeing the doll, Emma bursts into tears of joy. While hugging the doll tightly, she says: “You gotta be kidding me! It has a leg like me.”
Emma’s mother, Courtney Fletcher Bennett, who originally posted the video to Facebook, reached out to a company called A Step Ahead Prosthetics to see if they could modify the doll for her daughter. The company agreed and sent a return letter with the doll that read: “She was fitted with a leg in her favorite color pink and started walking on it right away. After a few weeks of training to walk and run in her new prosthetic, she is ready to go home and live her life without limitations with you.”
To that, Emma said: “Thank you, thank you for making a doll like me.”
