In fact, friends joke that sunglasses are required to look in her closet. “Colors make my heart sing,” says the owner of a custom- and handmade-carpet company, who, as a child, fell in love with the aqua of the Caribbean. “Too many people are afraid of color — they’re afflicted with chromophobia,” she says with a laugh. “To me, colors celebrate life.”
