Age: 25.
Occupation: I manage human resources and information technology for my family-owned produce business, which is almost 100 years old.
Family members: My whole family lives here.
I live here because: I love Boston for its strong sense of tradition and culture. Although I’ve lived in other places, I always seem to want to come back home to Boston.
My neighborhood: Brookline Hills.
My favorite restaurant: Village Smokehouse, One Harvard Street (
www.villagesmokehouse.com).
If you go to this restaurant, be sure to order: The barbecue ribs or barbecue chicken with coleslaw, corn bread, and a big ol’ Samuel Adams beer.
My favorite museums: The Children’s Museum (
www.bostonchildrensmuseum.org) and the New England Aquarium (
www.neaq.org).
My favorite tourist destination: Fenway Park is a must, but tickets can be hard to come by, so Kenmore Square (two blocks north) is a great place to watch the game, have a beer, and eat a hot dog.
Best insider spot: Brookline Spa (617-566-9446) is the best sandwich shop around. All the sandwiches are named after famous mobsters.
My favorite area: You can get amazingly fresh burritos for $3 at Anna’s Taqueria (617-277-7111), in Coolidge Corner, an awesome neighborhood in Brookline.
When you visit, don’t forget to pack: Sneakers. New Balance is Boston’s preferred brand of sneakers, since the company is headquartered here.
The one local cuisine you should try when you’re in town is: Stuffed lobster.
The one thing most outsiders don’t know about this city is: Boston has more than a downtown area. Like New York, it consists of many culturally rich neighborhoods. Also, Boston empties out in the summer, when the students go home.
If I had to describe this city in one word, it would be: Eclectic.
I tell my friends to stay at: Fairmont Copley Place Hotel (
www.fairmont.com/copleyplaza). Located in Copley Square, it has a traditional Boston feel and ambiance.
