My Hometown: Insiders' Guides to 14 Cities

Real Simple asked women all over the country to share what’s not to be missed about their cities

My Boston: Noelle Guerrin
Age: 26.

Occupation: Public-relations executive.

Family members: My husband, Keith.

I live here because: I went to college here and fell in love. The rest is history.

My neighborhood: Brookline.

My favorite restaurant: Mistral Bistro (www.mistralbistro.com).

If you go to this restaurant, be sure to order: Pan-roasted halibut.

My favorite museum: Museum of Fine Arts, 465 Huntington Avenue (www.mfa.org).

My favorite tourist destination: Fenway Park (877-733-7699), without a doubt the best place to see a baseball game.

Overrated tourist destination: Cheers. It’s a small, overly crowded bar.

Best insider spot: 21st Amendment (www.21stboston.com). It has great, shockingly cheap food, and the bartenders are full of personality.

My favorite areas: Beacon Hill, Coolidge Corner, and the North End.

Best place to go shopping: Definitely Newbury Street, where there are fabulous boutiques.

The one local cuisine you should try when you’re in town is: Lobster mac and cheese.

When you visit, don’t forget to pack: A sweater. New England weather is never predictable.

But leave room in your suitcase for: A Red Sox hat.

If you had to describe this city in one word, it would be: Quintessential.

The best way to get around: Walking when the weather is nice.

I tell my friends to stay at: The Nine Zero (www.ninezero.com) is a great boutique hotel, and Spire (located inside) is a fabulous restaurant that serves a great brunch.

They say “Virginia is for lovers.” So fill in the blank: Boston is for...blue bloods.
