My Minneapolis: Jolene Lew

Occupation: Advertising project leader.
Family Members: My husband, Brandon.
I’ve lived here for: Six years.
I live here because: My family and my job are here, and I love the seasons.
My neighborhood: Edina.
My favorite restaurant: The Oceanaire (
www.theoceanaire.com/minneapolis).
If you go to this restaurant, be sure to order: The stuffed gray sole.
My favorite museum: The Walker Art Center (
www.walkerart.org).
My favorite tourist destination: Lake Harriet (612-230-6475), a great walking path around a beautiful lake.
Overrated tourist destination: Mall of America. It’s too big, with too many people.
Best insider spots: Uptown Bar and Cafe (
www.uptownbarandcafe.com); D’Amico & Sons (
www.damicoandsons.com), a wonderful Italian deli with very fresh food it’s hard to find anything similar in the city and great desserts; Lucia’s Restaurant (612-825-1572), a popular uptown bistro that offers food made with local ingredients.
My favorite area: Linden Hills.
Best place to go shopping: 50th Street and France Avenue.
When you visit, don’t forget to pack: Layers, because the temperature can vary greatly throughout the day.
But leave room in your suitcase for: Clothing and shoes, because there’s no sales tax on those.
The one local cuisine you should try when you’re in town is: Parmesan-crusted walleye.
The best way to get around: By car.
The one thing most outsiders don’t know about this city is: It’s second to New York City in per capita attendance at theater and arts events.
I tell my friends to stay at: The Chambers Hotel (
www.chambersminneapolis.com), a small boutique hotel with an artful twist in the heart of downtown.
If I had to describe this city in one word, it would be: Eclectic.
They say “Virginia is for lovers.” So fill in the blank: Minneapolis is for...outdoor enthusiasts.
