How to Shave Your Legs
Using a circular motion, massage shaving gel or foam or a thick body wash into your skin. (Don't use bar soap it's too drying.) Even hair conditioner will work in a pinch, since many hair products contain the same silicones that give shaving products their slipperiness. If possible, give stubble a minute to soften.
Holding the razor in one hand and pulling your skin taut with the other, draw the blade lightly over your skin against the direction of hair growth, using long, steady strokes. Rinse the razor after each stroke to clear the blade of debris. Avoid going over one area repeatedly or you risk razor burn and irritation.
Rinse off any leftover lather with cool water, then gently pat off excess moisture using a soft towel. While your skin is still slightly wet, apply a soothing, fragrance-free, nonmedicated body lotion, like Eucerin Calming Cream ($8 at drugstores), to seal in moisture.
