Best Upgraded Food Processor for Everyday Cooks
    KitchenAid 9-Cup, $200
Pros: For double the price of the Cuisinart, this KitchenAid model offers a bigger bowl, the usual two blades and disks, and an increasingly popular extra — a four-cup mini-bowl with its own blade. In addition to doing away with the need for a mini-chopper, the mini-bowl can save prep time: Drop it into the maxi to whip up a vinaigrette or chop nuts, then remove it and shred carrots or slice onions in the maxi without stopping to clean the bowl and the blade. Also available in white.
Con: A relatively narrow feed tube, which means more prep before processing.
