Volunteer with Your Family

Look For:
  • Organizations that need your specific talent, whether that’s writing grant proposals or administering first aid.
  • An orientation class that teaches children why the project matters and how they’re helping.
  • Organizations with age requirements that don’t exclude your children.

  • Option 1: FamilyCares

What's Involved: Run in part by the Points of Light Foundation, FamilyCares offers ideas for numerous self-initiated kid-friendly projects. For example, the Toy Library project suggests families repair and restock games and books in the pediatric departments of local hospitals.

    Option 2: Rotary Youth Exchange

What's Involved: Introduce your family to a new culture without leaving home by hosting an exchange student through Rotary International. Stays range from a few weeks to several months. Hosts and students are screened and interviewed by Rotary officials.
