    As far as you’re concerned, the question is not “Should I eat pasta?” — leave that to the fad slaves. Rather, it’s “Which brand of pasta should I eat?” To find the answer, Real Simple road-tested the 15 best-selling dry pastas and boiled them down to the top three. Because each brand uses basically one dough recipe for all its pasta shapes, only one shape was tested — spaghetti, the country’s most popular cut, according to the National Pasta Association. All were cooked according to package directions and tossed with olive oil and salt so testers could focus on flavor (good pasta should be slightly nutty, never bland) and texture (the noodle should be firm when cooked).
