To find the toughest kitchen, trash, and leaf bags in the land, Real Simple testers tortured as many kinds as they could get their hands on.

All the bags suffered through the same three tests. In the first, the kitchen and trash bags were filled with trash and pointy-edged boxes, the lawn bags with wood chips; then each was dragged over smooth concrete and jagged rocks before being dropped from a five-foot height onto pavement. The second test was the same, but the bags were instead filled with three liters of water. Finally, weight was added until the bags burst when lifted. Any bags that survived this boot camp are ready for our everyday battles.
