How to overcome three common tanner problems? Try these tips and you’re golden
Burcu Avsar
“I wind up with streaks.” Use a tinted tanner so you can see the color as soon as you apply it and avoid missing spots. And be sure to rub in the product with long strokes.
“My ankles look blotchy.” Moisturize your skin before putting on tanner. Dry skin (like that on the ankles) can soak up too much DHA.
“I can’t apply tanner to my back.” Ask a friend. Or try the Body Buddy ($25, www.bodybuddy.com), a nonabsorbent lotion applicator. Put tanner on the applicator, then wield it the same way you use a towel to dry your back.
