If candle wax drips on a tablecloth, a couch, or carpeting, gently rub the surface with ice packed in a Ziploc bag. When the wax hardens, carefully peel it off with a plastic spatula. Or, if it fits, place the item in a plastic bag in the freezer. (This trick also works for votive holders.) Note: The pigments in colored candles can stain. Consult a professional upholstery cleaner or your dry cleaner for any difficult situations (such as red wax on a white couch), especially if the wax has fallen on a delicate fabric.
