Nothing in the rear-view mirror induces panic like the putrid-colored, petrified face of a kid on the verge of car sickness. Take these precautions to avoid a vehicular vomitorium.

1. Bring along chewable Dramamine. With a physician's permission, a quarter tablet is OK for kids ages two to six. And they could get drowsy.

2. Have your child look at the horizon through the windshield.

3. Occasionally roll down the windows for a blast of fresh air, and don't smoke in the car.

4. "Borrow" airsickness bags from planes. Barf bags seal up nicely and contain the smell.

5. Try ginger ale or ginger capsules to settle sensitive stomachs.
