  • Your love life. Even if you're friendly with your boss, sharing possibly unflattering details of your romantic life can negatively affect the way she views you in the workplace.


  • Criticism of coworkers or higher-ups in your organization. Griping about colleagues can sound like tattling; gossiping about executives is dangerous politically, not to mention indiscreet.


  • Financial problems. This reflects poorly upon your ability to manage your life. Never cite money problems when asking for a raise.
