The promise of a quick fix for your energy crisis whether it’s
a dietary supplement, such as ginseng, or a new drug, like the narcolepsy treatment Provigil is tempting, but experts advise you to resist.
“To get more energy, it’s better to first focus on lifestyle measures like diet, exercise, stress
reduction, and good sleep before trying to feel better through supplements, which often haven’t been
well researched,” says integrative medical specialist Woodson Merrell. If those tactics don’t help, see a doctor. A chronic condition, such as hypothyroidism or fibromyalgia, may be the source of
your slump.
