Hair
Because Arizona, where I live, is very dry, I use leave-in conditioner overnight. When I shower in the morning, I rinse it out and my hair feels soft and replenished. I find it works better than the 20-minute heat treatments, which I think leave hair waxy. Plus, who has time for that?

Face
In my palm, I mix a tiny bit of Jergen’s Age Defying Multi-Vitamin Moisturizer with my Cetaphil 15 Facial Moisturizer and apply it to my damp face and lips. My skin gets moisturized and feels great. This also makes it easier to apply lip liner or lipstick, as I have very dry skin.

I have discovered Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base, an oil-free moisturizer for all skin types. After I wash my face in the morning (with Cetaphil), I apply this all over, and my SPF 15 oil-free cover-up glides on like buttah. I no longer feel as if I’m spreading Spackle on my face, and my 50-year-old oily skin looks nearly flawless, younger, and great all day long.

Teeth
Nothing gives your face a more beautiful glow than a bright smile and healthy teeth. I floss and brush after every meal and never miss my regular dental checkups. I also bleach my teeth every few months to maintain a natural shade of white.

Eyes
I keep a couple of spoons in the freezer. After a sleepless night, I place the cold spoons on my puffy eyes to correct the problem before I apply makeup.

Hands
My fellow nurses are always painting Band-Aid Liquid Bandage on cracks in their hands caused by hours of countless washings. I don’t have that problem because at least once a week I use the Body Shop’s Hemp Hand Protector cream and Bath and Body Works True Blue Spa’s Beauty Queen Wave Moisturizing Gel Gloves. The gloves are not cheap but are worth every cent. After a night shift, I apply the cream liberally and fall asleep with the gloves on. At some point in my nap, I end up taking them off and wiping my hands on a towel. It’s as if my hands have been in a mini-spa. I wake up with soft skin and cuticles.

Feet
I keep a tube of foot cream in my bed-stand drawer and use it each night before turning in. It feels lovely on tired feet and is a beauty routine that’s quick and easy to remember at the end of the day.

Skin
As soon as I’ve toweled off after a shower, I rub moisturizer all over my body, then spend 10 minutes in the warm, moist bathroom doing my hair and dressing routines. This keeps my pores open to slowly soak up the moisturizer.

Once a month, I make a scrub of 2 tablespoons of wheat germ, 1 small mashed banana, and a teaspoon of honey. It can be used on the face, neck, hands, elbows, and feet to exfoliate and moisturize — and it smells delicious.
