    For Adults
  • Use a paper tablecloth. Create a different-colored runner with pinking sheers. If your party is outside and it’s windy, tie the paper down with string.

  • Use disposable plates and cutlery with a designer twist, like those made of bamboo. But use regular serving dishes and spoons to avoid nasty spills or breaks.

  • Serve bite-sized foods, particularly room-temperature items, so that you can prepare it all in advance.

  • Handwrite guests’ names on the tablecloth to create place settings.

  • Use plums or other fruit to hold down the place settings.

  • Miniature cupcake foils make clever votive candle holders.

  • Chinese takeout containers make cool serving dishes, and allow guests to easily take home leftover food.

  • Place bunches of flowers or fruit on top of upturned, paper-wrapped boxes for simple but stunning centerpieces.
