What surprises you most about your adult life?

That it isn’t so hard. And that boys aren’t that stupid.

What are you most proud of?

My race. I well up with pride when I think of the adversity we overcame. We weren’t meant to survive in this country, let alone excel.

What scares you?

Clowns — and I am moving on to the next question.

How often do you weigh yourself?

As long as I can fit into my clothes and I’m not getting passed on the stairs by someone with a cane, I’m good.

What’s your main source of news?

Reading over my husband’s shoulder on the train. He hogs the paper.

What’s your favorite junk food?

Let’s just say the person who thought to put a potato in hot oil is a genius.
